The Castle
The facility brings a much-needed sophisticated restaurant and jazz lounge for all the jazz lovers in the Upper Highway and its surroundings. The jazz lounge is in an environment that is specifically designed for relaxing, socializing and networking with a picturesque view of Drummond mountains.
Aside from running a jazz lounge where all genres of jazz music such a soul jazz, blues and others will be played and performed by popular and upcoming jazz artists, The Castle also has the following attractions
- Morning coffee bar that serves tea and muffins from 5:30am
- Restaurant that serves daily breakfast, lunch from alacarte menu and buffet on Sundays.
- A bar with an assortment of beers, crafted beers, distilled spirits, wines, cocktails, whiskeys, non-alcoholic drinks, and tobacco
- A fully equipped conferencing facility with capacity of 80 people.
Location
The Castle is located at No. 10 Old Main Road Drummond, KwaZulu-Natal. Drummond is situated exactly halfway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg on the 1 000 Hills Road and is famous for the halfway mark of the Comrades Marathon. The establishment is less than 10km drive from Hillcrest.
Operating Times
- Coffee Bar opens at 5:30am until 8:30am thereafter coffee & tea is served in the main restaurant hall.
- Main restaurants opens at 8:00am to 11:00pm
- Breakfast, strictly from 8:00am to 11:00am
- Light meals, lunch and dinner on Alacarte menu until 10:00pm
- Buffet on Sundays from 12:00pm to 8:00pm
- Bar is open from 8:00am until 10:30pm
